field day

I helped out at first grade's field day on Tuesday. The weather was great and the kids had a blast!

My station involved watching kids bounce back and forth. It was pretty great!

We spent Sunday involved in ocean activities, first stopping at the aquarium!

Behind the aquarium was a World Oceans Day celebration. The kids did activities and crafts and they got to pet a live lobster.

Then Jane ate her first lobster!

one-room schoolhouse

I was excited to attend the field trip to a one-room schoolhouse with Jane's class! The kids had fun learning about what school was like in 1848.

cottage

Over Memorial Day weekend we opened up the cottage and spent the night. The kids went swimming even though it was freezing and Jane forgot her bathing suit!

The next morning I took a walk and saw a cute fox and some interesting ducks!

We can't wait to go back later in the summer for a longer visit!

I keep seeing this black squirrel outside the office window when I'm working!

reading

Dad is reading the fourth Harry Potter book to the kids before bedtime. The copy we own is the British edition. Jane follows along with the American version from the library and points out the differences, which I think is fascinating! I never would've had the patience to do that. The other night when she was waiting for him to read she started reading a Warrior book and Westie made herself comfortable on top of the HP book.

I had a great time a few weeks ago having dinner and ice cream with my college friends!
