evening orchard fun

Our weekends have either been very busy or rainy so we decided to go to the orchard in the evening one weekday. This place is completely mobbed during the weekends, so it was good we went when we did!

First we picked out pumpkins to bring home.

Then we visited the farmyard.

We took a hayride to get to the apple picking spot.

The kids actually picked a few.

I think Jane ate four apples during this outing!

When we got home, they wanted to pose for pictures with pumpkins outside.

Malcolm's 4th birthday

Malcolm chose to go to an indoor playspace on his birthday. Jane doesn't care for that place anymore so it was an excellent idea of his to go while she was in school.

You can see where he had the most fun!

Malcolm chose barbecue chicken pizza for dinner and yellow cake with chocolate frosting.

It was cold and rainy but Malcolm had fun staying home most of the day.

I can't believe the baby of the family is now four, or "fow-ah," the way he pronounces it!

New Bedford

Columbus Day was my birthday, so we went to the New Bedford Whaling Museum.

This business had closed down, but I liked the sign!

After lunch we went to the Buttonwood Zoo. It's pretty small and a lot of it seemed like it was closed down, but it was in the same city so it was a good place to stop. They had lots of Halloween decorations.

Behind me you can see the train that we took. It was so tiny there was no way to take a picture inside it!

The kids love milking pretend cows!

For dinner we had nachos and homemade ice cream. For gifts I got things mostly involving coffee or yarn, my favorite things! I had a great birthday.

the next day

Jane was invited to her classmate's "boot camp" party the next day. Luckily we had some camo pants that fit her. She didn't want to wear them, but they looked so cute! She had a great time.

Photobucket

On the way home we stopped for some apples.

Photobucket

At night we had a "pizza party picnic" on the living room floor so I could watch the football game.

Jane's 6th birthday

Jane decided to go to Davis Farmland on her birthday! She didn't have a party there but I still thought it would be cute if she posed in front of this sign. Since she had a party hat on they figured out it was her birthday and people kept giving her stickers.

This baby goat was so friendly and soft!

Photobucket

The kids got to hold baby chicks.

Photobucket

Before we left the kids wanted face paint.

Photobucket

When we got home, Daddy and Jane raked leaves.

For dinner, Jane specified she wanted "green beans, asparagus and tomatoes." We had it with rice and swordfish.

Photobucket

She wanted m&m cookies for dessert!

Photobucket

Then before bed, we took a walk.

Photobucket

It was a fun day and I liked all the things she picked out for her birthday. I can't believe my little girl is six already! It's amazing to think of all the things she can do.

party time!

Photobucket

Photobucket

We didn't have a theme or any planned activities, but everyone still seemed to have a good time!

Photobucket

Since we were happy the sun finally came out, I did sunshine cupcakes.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Eliana and Nate liked the cupcakes!

Photobucket

Nolan gave the piƱata a shot! We had everyone go in order from shortest to tallest.

Photobucket

It finally fell down and Tyler was trying to break it open.

Photobucket

Photobucket

It's so funny to watch kids going for the goodies.
