Now the farm animals and people have a barn! The roof opens so the kids can play with it easily, and it folds up for storage.

festival

We went to our town's annual festival over the weekend. The first thing we did was visit the bouncy houses!

The kids were in a race. It was so adorable. Malcolm's age group had a huge amount of kids. Jane's only had four kids and three of them won in a three-way tie!

They went on a little "train" ride.

We checked out the emergency vehicles before we went home.

Davis Farmland

We went to Davis Farmland last week. It was such a nice day!

There was a new, huge slide they built for this year. The kids loved it!

outside at school

There was an all-school dance event outdoors one afternoon last week. Since Jane is in morning kindergarten, Malcolm and I got to bring her and stay to watch it. It was really cute!

mother's day

It was a happy accident that I ordered Red Sox tickets for Jane and I on mother's day. On our way through the park we saw some baby geese!

Jane thought these pink flower petals were so pretty.

As usual, we had burritos before the game.

Jane was hungry later and wanted a pretzel.

She was a very good sport, but after a couple hours she started asking to go home. That's when I let her text Daddy.

Towards the end of the game they announced that in honor of mother's day, moms and their kids would be able to run the bases after the game! There was a very, very long line, but Jane didn't want to give up and go home. Here she is in the outfield.

I don't think it was as exciting for her as it was for me, but she definitely enjoyed it.

When we got home, we got to have ice cream cake that Daddy made!

It was a great day and I'm lucky to have such a wonderful family.

class playdate

Since Jane's whole class gets along so well and they're only in school in the morning, I invited everyone to the playground one afternoon last week.

Jane and Marlena drew with chalk for a while.

Colin (Trevor's little brother) had fun chasing Malcolm around!

The kids found sticks and made music on the climbing structure!

We like to plant a few things each spring to eat and look pretty. I took the kids to a greenhouse yesterday to pick out plants and seeds. If I had bought everything the kids wanted, I would be broke!

Malcolm helped me get some compost.

Yay, the tomatoes are done!

Jane planted all the flowers she picked out by herself.

Each child in class gets a chance to be the star student, and this week is Jane's turn. Here's the poster she did about herself.

When I told Jane I had taken Malcolm to the arboretum, she said she wanted to go also, so we went back and had a picnic lunch. Jane and Malcolm pretended to fish.

We watched this butterfly for a long time.

last week

On Wednesday Dad took the day off. We picked Jane up from school and went to the Science Museum. We ate a picnic lunch and then started exploring.

We watched a 3D movie for the first time. We were the only ones in the theater, so Malcolm was able to ask us all about the flying dinosaurs. They loved it!

They loved playing on the rocks outside.

For years I had never seen the hedgehog, but he was out of his house so I got a picture!

The museum was deserted, and we plan on going more places this spring during the brief time that Jane is in morning kindergarten.

On Friday, Malcolm and I met our friends Eliana and Cassidy at the Arboretum. The weather was great and we had a nice time.

On Saturday we met our family at the Maine Wildlife Park. Reagan liked the moose!

Everyone admired the turtles.

After we saw all the animals, we went out for Chinese food, then to Grammy's house for cookies, then to the hospital to visit with Grandpa and Uncle Jake. It was a busy day!
