St. Patrick's Day

We started St. Patrick's Day by running a race! The kids ran a mile and I ran a 5k. It was in the 20s and windy, so we were cold!

For dinner, we had Irish nachos again, buttery cabbage and biscuit cake for dessert. It's sort of like fudge with cookies inside!

art show

I had a photo in an art show! It's the one of the river. The art opening was really crowded. The kids ate lots of treats!

concerts

The kids were both in concerts recently. Jane was the only one playing French horn at her band concert, and she sang a few songs in a special chorus! Malcolm was part of a cowboy band and he got to pretend to play a guitar! The kids decided that we need to eat desserts after their concert, so you can see Malcolm frosting some cupcakes.

bird party

Ever since the last snowstorm, robins and cedar waxwings have been feasting on our crab apple tree! If any of us wants something to do, we can look out the window and watch the bird party.

aquarium

There was no school Friday, so we went to the aquarium. We had lunch at a British pub and it was delicious!

March storm

We had a large snowstorm last week. The kids were let out of school early Wednesday and they were home on Thursday. It was heavy, wet snow, so a lot of branches broke off. We had no internet for two days but thankfully we had power, unlike a lot of other people!

Jane worked on knitting a cat, and Malcolm built the lego monorail.

getting crafty

On Saturday I volunteered to help kids make necklaces at the arts buffet. Jane and Malcolm enjoyed doing all the projects in the cafeteria! Some of their artwork from art class was displayed, too!
