brass bash
Jane participated in the Brass Bash the other night. We didn't know what to expect. There were kids from fifth grade through high school from all over the region. They did individual songs, some with a professional rhythm section, and then all played Herbie Hancock's "Chameleon" at the end. Jane was the only French horn; the rest of the students played trumpet or trombone. It was fun to watch!
cat cottage
Jane turned the dollhouse into a cat cottage! On the lower right you can see the cats got into bottles of milk.
moving legos
Malcolm spent the whole weekend using lego WeDo 2.0. He wanted to make every single project possible! He even woke up early to work on it.

sheep shearing festival
Jane and I checked out a new place for sheep shearing this year. We liked it! It was inexpensive to attend and very laid-back. Jane got to plant onions to take home, and we found the farm cat!
military march
Jane and Avery played "Military March" in front of the whole school during the Memorial Day assembly!
haiku in the woods
The third graders wrote and illustrated haikus and they were hung in the woods. I found Malcolm's, and I also saw a deer! Not pictured: the deer.

district-wide concert
Jane and a few of her friends volunteered to learn to sing some extra songs and participate in a district-wide concert at the high school. It was fun to see all the different ages of students singing!
lego contest
The kids entered the lego contest again this year. Jane did a beach scene and Malcolm made a guy holding ice cream!
The prize was a coupon for a free slushie (which are gross), so Dad had them trade them in for homemade chocolate ice cream instead!

mother's day 2018
We headed up to Manchester, New Hampshire for mother's day. Our first stop was the SEE Science Center housed in an old mill building.
They have a minifigure-scaled model of the old mill, built with 3 million legos!
We went out for lunch, then to the Currier Art Museum. Jane made blondies with chocolate chips for dessert!
