Maine: day two

Both grandmothers provided a lot of craft supplies. Jane made some birds and nests out of clay.

Malcolm colored some lizards.

We went to the Desert of Maine with Nana.

The butterfly garden was nice!

After our tour of the desert the kids got to "mine" for interesting rocks.

When we got back, Reagan was at the cottage!

The kids had a tea party with Grammy.

Maine: day one

There are a lot of vacation photos so I thought I'd break them up by day. We had a very busy and exciting first day at the cottage! Westie must be used to going there now because she only hid for a couple hours instead of a whole day.

The kids were excited to go swimming.

They love to visit with their grandmothers!

The tide was low enough for Jane to build a sand castle.

We took a walk with Grammy.

These are "touch-me-nots" and they spring open when you touch them. The kids call them "poppies."

Malcolm didn't feel like walking on the way back!

last day of swimming lessons

Swimming lessons at the lake were so much fun. We'll do it again next year!

Navy Yard

We went back to the Navy Yard yesterday to check out the only wooden whaling vessel in existence, the Charles W. Morgan. On the way there we saw the Red Sox blimp!

The kids really liked the different ropes!

Afterwards we boarded the WWII warship that was next to the whaling boat.

After we checked out the boats we went back to the U.S.S. Constitution museum. The kids had fun there again just like on Mother's day! Then we had a picnic in a nearby park. When we got home, the kids immediately made cardboard boats.

Jane has been enjoying a lot of down time this summer doing art and reading.

beach adventures

We finally made it to the beach this summer! We went with a group of friends and had a great time.

This is a sea worm. I had never heard of those before!
