Drumlin Farm

April and I took Colin and Malcolm on their last outing before the school year ended without their siblings. We saw some cute animals!

We stopped in the "library" for a little while.

The boys liked walking on this log.

We got to meet the farm's Cedar Waxwing and learn about her. They were really interested!

No visit would be complete without riding a horse!

It was a fun time.

father's day

We got up early and headed to Boston on Father's Day with the plan to catch a ferry to Georges Island. Unfortunately it was sold out, so we had to change our plan. We walked to Christopher Columbus Park so the kids could play and we could figure out what to do.

We decided on a trolley tour that included a boat ride. It was fun getting to ride around the city!

We got out at the Public Garden, rode on a Swan Boat and visited the "Make Way for Ducklings" ducks.

We got back on the trolley and went to the harbor for the boat ride. We watched jellyfish and striped bass while we waited.

The kids liked the boat ride at first, but then got too hot and were arguing over a chair. We knew when we got off it was time to go home. Overall it was a great day, though!

last softball practice

This afternoon was Jane's last softball practice of the season. (She still has two more games.) They did stretches, ran around, did some fielding practice and then the parents played wiffle ball against the kids. We had a good time!

Jane is left-handed but when it's sunny during a game she bats right-handed so the sun isn't in her eyes. She actually does well both ways. It's a good skill to have!

last soccer

The forecast didn't look good but it turned out fine for Malcolm's last soccer this morning. Jane was excited to go, too.

At the end, parents played against the kids. Some older siblings joined the kids and they won!

Then they got their trophies. They were very excited!

Other than all the rain, it was a great season. Malcolm really liked his teammates!

softball

The softball field Jane plays at has a brand new playground next to it. I took the kids a little early the other day so they could play first.

Here's Jane with coach Bob.

I'm also coaching, so I pitch to all the girls on our team.

Jane played catcher. It's one of her favorite positions.

school happenings

The other day was pajama day at school. Jane's pjs were all too small, so we had to buy some new ones for the occasion!

Jane's teacher is getting married so there was a surprise shower for her that day! Jane is holding up her hand to get everyone to be quiet since her teacher was about to arrive.

The teacher is "looping," so most of the same kids will be together next year. It's a great class!

This sums up how Malcolm felt about the bridal shower.

The next day was Author's Day. All the kids read books they had written aloud. Jane's was about a cat named Mouse. She got a lot of laughs, it was a funny story!

Malcolm had kindergarten move-up day yesterday! He got to meet his classmates and teacher. She seems very nice!
