science museum

This is a long post, bear with me! We go to this museum a lot but I hadn't brought the camera the last few times.

The kids love pressing the buttons to see different landmarks and towns light up. They like to find the northernmost light as well as the southern.

Jane always learns about birds in this part of the museum!

This is where you "make your own museum."

Jane created a dinosaur and sea thing museum.

Malcolm made a Green Lantern museum.

Photobucket

Look at the tiny turtle!

Jane found some books to read...

... and Malcolm was interested in this skeleton.

Photobucket

They wanted to see how many nanometers tall they were.

After lunch we went to a Sesame Street planetarium show. They played with Daddy's phone while we waited in line. (The kids liked the show but the parents wished it had taught a few more things, like constellations and planets.)

Photobucket

Daddy showed them how the Omni Theater projector worked.

Photobucket

We visited the mammoth and mastodon exhibit. Malcolm loves this big guy!

They're in front of a pygmy mammoth.

In this section Malcolm wanted to see different versions of hearts. He's been interested in the human heart lately.

Photobucket

Here he is feeling his pulse.

Photobucket

Jane created this self-portrait with chains on a magnetic board.

Photobucket

One of the last places we visited was the pirate and shipwreck exhibit.

We stayed for a long time and enjoyed ourselves. And we never went into the kids' section which is usually crowded, so Nate and I were glad about that!

This looks like a great museum. Playing with all these things definitely stretches their minds :)

I think you have two of the most creative, curious kids I know. Good for you (and them!)
