aw!

Jane wanted me to post on the blog that this was the first time Westie sat on her lap but I don't think it was. It was very cute, though! Look how happy Westie looks.

Old Sturbridge Village

We had a mostly enjoyable outing at Old Sturbridge Village. Malcolm had a bit of an issue at first but once we moved onto some activities he liked better, he improved. I think the highlight for Jane and me was the mini furniture exhibit! We wanted all of it for our dollhouse!

The kids were delighted by this squirrel who stayed nearby while we ate lunch. He even climbed in and out of the trash can!

They would've played with these stilts for hours if we had let them. It was very cold, though, so we wanted to move along!

The other day I couldn't get Cassidy and Malcolm to play outside even though it was nice out. I raked a pile of leaves and that did the trick!

Jane's never played basketball before but she was eager to join the team this year. She knows a lot of the other girls and she had fun on the first day. They all got t-shirts and their own ball. One of Jane's best friends, Maddy, is looking at the camera!

The girls took turns leading exercises.

She even scored a basket during the scrimmage! She wanted to practice a lot over the weekend so she dribbled in the driveway and we went to the park with a court.

back to skating

Malcolm was happy to start skating lessons this year. Last year he wasn't so happy at first, so I was glad this time went better.

I'm also glad he picked out red mittens so I can tell him apart from the other kids on the ice!

nice day

Last Wednesday was nice out so Cassidy, Malcolm and I headed to the playground. They loved the huge slide!

They also had fun climbing.

science museum

We ventured to the science museum to see the Maya exhibit.

The kids had fun with balls and tubes.

The Maya exhibit was very exciting!

Jane's last soccer game

It was very cold and windy during Jane's last game!

She seems to enjoy playing defense. She can throw and kick the ball really far! She also scored a few goals this year.

Malcolm sat on my lap so we would be warmer!

The girls were excited to get medals.

Malcolm had a cold (but thankfully dry) day for his last soccer practice.

There was a scrimmage between parents and the kids. Jane had to stand in for me because I have a broken toe.

The boys were happy to get medals!

Halloween!

Malcolm was a red dragon and Jane was a black cat for Halloween!

Dad took them trick-or-treating to some neighborhood homes, then they went to a street close by with a lot of kids and sidewalks. They got a lot of candy!

Halloween was a half day for Jane at school, so we went out to lunch when the kids got off the bus. They definitely had the "crazies" at the restaurant, so we stopped at a playground before we went home.
