highlights of the week

Last week started out very rainy. The kids did crafts and then we went to the library.

On Tuesday we headed to Boston.

We went back to the Old State House.

Someone working there did not like Jane and Malcolm being in the bricked-up fireplace!

After lunch we still had a while before meeting our friends, so the kids played at Post Office Square.

We went to the Scooperbowl with our friends Kim, Duncan and Cassidy. The drizzly, cold weather worked out perfectly for us because it wasn't crowded at all. I have no idea how much ice cream we all ate, but it was a lot! I couldn't believe when my kids actually said they were full and couldn't eat any more!

The children had a lively time on the train ride home. This was one of the rare moments they were all sitting!

On Thursday we visited Nicole and Eliana to play and have lunch.

After lunch we went to the bike path. Jane had a lot of fun practicing with no training wheels!

We had seen a sign for strawberry picking, so we stopped to do that on the way home.

That evening was Jane's last t-ball game of the season, and she got to play against Duncan's team. Malcolm usually stayed home during the games, but I thought we would all go to the last game. He had fun climbing on the rocks with Cassidy!

At one point Jane was playing the pitcher position and she got hit in the head by a ball. It was very scary. She didn't cry but she definitely seemed shaken. She went back in the game and did fine, and I guess the ball must've just hit her helmet. She never had a headache or a bruise.

Friday they wanted to ride bikes again!

Saturday was Jane's last soccer game of the season.

The ice cream truck came at the end. Just what they needed!

Malcolm and Eliana had a good time eating their treats.

More ice cream in the afternoon! We went to Dairy Day at Drumlin Farm and the kids learned how to make ice cream, and they helped pour in the ingredients and turn the crank.

Photobucket

There were some black piglets.

They were fascinated by the goat milking demonstration.

On Sunday Jane attended the little league pitch, hit, and run competition. She had fun but was a little confused about the whole thing. I think she wanted to play another game!

You guys are always so busy!! It's great that you take the kids out even in the rain. The train ride looks like fun! I have yet to find a place to go strawberry picking! My kids have been asking about that. What a fun week you all had!
