Maine: day six

Uncle Abe had been to Grammy's house picking blueberries and said there were a lot, so I got up early to pick a bunch.

Around lunchtime we went to see the Portland Sea Dogs with Nana and Rayna. It was a great game and they won!

Here are the sunglasses Jane ended up getting.

Unless he was eating, Malcolm really didn't have much fun. I will stop trying to make a baseball fan out of him!

Daddy went for a swim with the kids that afternoon.

Malcolm found this unusual caterpillar.

We had a fire and roasted marshmallows that night. The kids stayed up really late and they loved it.

Nana came over to do some stenciling with the kids.

The kids climbed out a window onto the roof to clean off sticks. They loved that!

The kids liked the dog beds.

Afterwards, we went to Nana's house. Her cat, Jack, was very friendly.

We went to Gritty McDuff's for lunch and Jane was wearing her t-shirt from a previous year. We sat under a tent on the deck because it was raining!

Maine: day three

Early in the morning I was about to go jogging when I saw this guy climbing a tree! I just had to go back inside to grab the camera.

My beautiful neice Alexis asked me to do a photo shoot for her senior pictures.

We also celebrated her 17th birthday. We didn't have any birthday candles so we used a normal one!

Maine: day two

Both grandmothers provided a lot of craft supplies. Jane made some birds and nests out of clay.

Malcolm colored some lizards.

We went to the Desert of Maine with Nana.

Maine: day one

There are a lot of vacation photos so I thought I'd break them up by day. We had a very busy and exciting first day at the cottage! Westie must be used to going there now because she only hid for a couple hours instead of a whole day.

 photo 2014-07-25_3_westie_beam_001_zps627e372f.jpg

The kids were excited to go swimming.

They love to visit with their grandmothers!

 photo 2014-07-25_4_swimming_cottage_008_zps358f1323.jpg

The tide was low enough for Jane to build a sand castle.

We took a walk with Grammy.

These are "touch-me-nots" and they spring open when you touch them. The kids call them "poppies."

Malcolm didn't feel like walking on the way back!

Swimming lessons at the lake were so much fun. We'll do it again next year!
